Dental hygiene is also known as a cleaning. Dental cleanings remove both hard (tartar/calculus) and soft (plaque) buildup as well as surface stains on the teeth. Along with your cleaning you can expect a comprehensive health history review, blood pressure check, and a thorough assessment of your oral tissues.
*we do not have dentists onsite. It is not within our scope of practice, as dental hygienists, to diagnose tooth decay. However, if you have any areas of concern we will let you know and refer you to your dentist for further assessment.
Professional in office whitening is the process of lifting stubborn stain on the surface, and from within the teeth. Our whitening will leave your smile brighter with minimal sensitivity and no damage to gum tissue.
A polish at the end of your hygiene appointment is recommended to help remove remaining surface stain and leaves your mouth feeling extra clean.
Polishing also removes soft buildup (plaque), so for children sometimes this is all that is needed during their hygiene appointment.
